September 14-19, 2008

with Jane Fryer & Jennifer Harvey
Cavallo Point, San Francisco

(We are not taking reservations
for this program at this time)

This retreat will integrate the auspicious timing of the full harvest moon September 15, and lead us into the potency of the fall equinox. Jane will be assisted by Jennifer Harvey with whom she developed this option- the Inward Bound Core; offering Anusara Yoga, Meditation, NIA and Pilates. Unique in depth and breadth,   The Inward Bound Core program will take you to the next level physically, emotionally, and spiritually while having a great time in the process. This is a multi leveled retreat and beginners are welcome.

The day begins with meditation.  The methods, purposes, and benefits of meditation are taught and experienced in a way that is simple, yet profound. Next, an Anusara yoga class, emphasizing the development of strength as well as flexibility, with attention to proper alignment and enhanced breathing.

We will also explore the life affirming philosophy inherent in this yoga tradition with time for questions and personal process.   NIA, as taught by Jennifer, is a fabulous aerobic workout that combines yoga, dance, tai chi, and other martial arts in a way that is inspiring, fun, and integrative of mind, body, and spirit. In essence, a spiritual sweat!

We include Pilates mat exercises that emphasize core strengthening in a balanced and efficient way, as we believe that yoga alone does not create or sustain the core strength needed for optimum health.

Restorative yoga, an inwardly directed class, is meant to restore, revive, and revitalize.  It is effortless and extraordinarily relaxing, and it has major benefits for all psychophysical systems.

Jane and Jennifer created the original 'Inward Bound' program and worked together on all Inward Bound retreats around the world for five years before Jenn opened her own studio, Laughing Dog Yoga in Wellesley, MA. Jane and Jennifer assist one another in all the classes, and their teaching styles offer participants a seamless integration of information and experience in a way that is refreshing and fun, as well as deeply healing and revitalizing.

Jane Fryer
Jane is best known for her Inward Bound programs that unite yoga with nature for the ultimate life-changing retreat. Small groups travel with Jane to gorgeous, natural settings to quiet the mind and transform from within. Jane was first drawn to yoga over 30 years ago when she felt overwhelmed and helpless. Having studied social psychology and women’s issues, she held a steady, strong fascination for understanding cultures and ways in which people respond to one another. A driven individual, she continued her studies at the graduate level, but was frustrated by her lack of fulfillment. She experienced life on what seemed to be, a deeper level than many who surrounded her and turned to yoga to begin her personal, inward journey, believing that transformed individuals make a transformed world.
